Kerry Washington Joined Forces With Neutrogena on Not 1, but 2 Makeup Palettes

It's a beautiful day in the makeup neighborhood. America's sweetheart Kerry Washington and beloved drugstore brand Neutrogena have formally teamed up to deliver two affordable, thoughtfully-designed makeup palettes — and both are officially up for grabs at Ulta.

Neutrogena Essential Eye Palette x Kerry Washington ($13) features five complementary and buildable shades with built-in primer that helps the product stay put for hours without creasing. Washington spoke to WWD about the collaboration and curation process, saying that picking shades that work for all skin tones was really important to her. She also said that she named the colors after qualities that make us feel beautiful on the inside, too. The eye palette shades are Brilliant, Confident, Flirty, Focused, and Powerful, and the cheek palette shades are Grateful, Captivating, and Elegant.

"Obviously, everyone is going to look different using these colors, and not every color is going to work for every single person. I tried to create a world where you could really play," she told WWD. "What's a bronzer for somebody might be a blush for someone, and a highlighter for somebody might be an eye shadow. You can really play around with these tools."

In terms of shade selection and being inclusive, she said, "No one is doing it 100 percent perfectly, but everybody is trying to figure out how to live in their space, and that is so powerful. I think the important thing is everyone is moving in the right direction."
