Love Beauty and Planet Is the Latest Brand Making Its Bottles From Ocean-Bound Plastic
Love Beauty and Planet is committed to sustainability, and for World Oceans Day on June 8, the brand is stepping up its efforts. The company (and its sister brand, Love Home and Planet) organized its first beach cleanup on June 5 and successfully cleared Asbury Park, NJ, of over 150 pounds of trash. On June 8, the brand will continue to host 27 additional beach cleanups nationwide in partnership with the Surfrider Foundation, which is an organization committed to protecting oceans and beaches. In conjunction with the cleanup, Love Beauty and Planet and Love Home and Planet has donated $250,000 to the organization.
In addition to the brand's in-person environmental efforts, it will also be debuting a limited-edition collection of products called the Clean Oceans Edition. The products in this line are encased in bottles made 100 percent from ocean-bound plastic found in water near coastlines. The shampoo and conditioners will be available starting in July, so you can feel good about your ethical consumer habits when you shop the line.
Check out the products ahead, and visit the brand's website to find out where you can participate in a beach cleanup.
