This Is the DJ-Approved MAC Makeup You Need For Coachella
It girl DJ Mia Moretti has been to Coachella for the past six years, but 2015 will bring something completely new to her festival experience; this is the year that she launches her premiere collection for MAC Cosmetics.
Now, it must be noted that it's not her first time working with the beauty brand. Mia and MAC have a history that led to this synergy of creativity. For past festivals like Lollapalooza and SXSW, Mia has DJed parties for MAC. (And if you haven't seen her girl group The Dolls perform yet, you should! Mia runs the ones and twos while her partner Caitlin Moe accompanies her on the violin, and it's pretty magical.) The sartorial star has also curated product offerings for MAC, but this is her first time being part of the design process.
"I learned so much about makeup from doing this line," she told us. "It was really fun to come in from a non makeup artist perspective, because I wasn't doing anything in a very technical way. I tried to do it in a more wearable way. I know what my habits are and how they formed, so I tried to keep it very true to myself."
After reviewing the line — which includes a lip palette, two base creams, two multipurpose color creams, two lipsticks, and four bags — we can agree that it's as effortlessly cool as beauty products come. Sheer blue and lavender lip tints are anchored by subtle highlighter and bronzers. The basket-print, slightly clear totes double as pool-party bags and evening clutches, so you can stay out until dusk and easily change up your beauty look as you go.
The best way to bring the collection to life is through Mia's own words, so keep reading to discover what inspired the pieces, how to style them, and some advice on cultivating your own personal festival flair.
