After all, these were the four trends spotlighted by NYX Cosmetics at the brand's So LA Summer House recently. With on-site makeup artists and beauty products galore, we discovered the ins and outs of nailing each trend for the upcoming season. Whether you rock them individually or combine them together for a fresh-faced look, keep reading for the must-have products and must-know tips for mastering each one like a total pro.
1 The Bush Is Back!
And by that we mean fluffy, bold boy brows. Thanks to the new Fill & Fluff Eyebrow Pomade Pencil ($11), you can achieve full, flawless brows with ease.
Get the look: First, smooth your bare brows outwards and upwards using the paddle brush side. From there, use the retractable pomade pencil side to fill and define, then use the paddle brush once again to blend and fluff.
2 Pump It Up
The "bigger is better" theme continues! This Summer, it's all about full, enhanced lips, and with the new Filler Instinct Plumping Lip Polish ($7), creating that plump, smooth, hydrated look has never been easier. This lip gloss comes in six sheer shades and covers your lips in a glowy shine.
Get the look: Use the arched applicator to swipe your favorite shade across bare lips. Alternatively, you could layer the clear gloss over lipstick — either all over for an enhanced color effect, or dabbed onto just the center of your lips for extra dimension.
3 Get Bare
Want to know the secret to pulling off that sun-kissed glow? Super hydrated, fresh skin. That's where the new Bare With Me line comes in. With products like the Hydrating Jelly Primer ($17), Tinted Skin Veil ($13), Hydrating Cheek Tint ($10), and Prime. Set. Refresh. Multitasking Spray ($10), you can create a smooth, nearly poreless complexion. More importantly, your skin will be hydrated thanks to ingredients like aloe and cucumber extract.
Get the look: First, use the jelly gripping primer to soften the appearance of pores and create an even, hydrated canvas for your makeup. Once the primer is set, blend the tinted skin veil all over for light coverage and a satiny finish. For the most natural effect, try using your fingers to blend from the center of your face outward. You can even use a lighter shade as an under-eye concealer. Next, dab the cheek tint on the apples of your cheeks and blend with your fingers for a sheer wash of color. Pro tip: you can even blend the same color on your lids and lips for an all-over flush. Finally, follow up with a few spritzes of the multitasking spray to set everything and leave your skin looking extra dewy.
4 Get Glowing
Now that the rest of our look is complete, the final step is to get that signature glow! It comes in six shades and features a creamy texture you can blend on your face and body.
Get the look: To create that flattering, airbrushed finish, swirl the product lightly onto a fluffy brush and blend onto your face using small, circular motions. Again, blend from the center outward. It's better to start off lightly and build up to your desired color. Don't forget to bring the color down to your neck, too! For more of an all-over glow, apply the bronzer down the front of your arms and legs, and along the tops of your shoulder and décolletage — anywhere that the sun naturally hits.
