Rihanna's New Haircut Is Sure to Set a Trend For Fall
You better cancel your next haircut appointment. Rihanna is about to set a new hair trend for Fall. We recently spoke to the music superstar at the Brooklyn launch of her sixth fragrance, RiRi ($20-$60), where she told us that the scissors are likely in her future. "I'm growing it back from the shaved sides, and now I'm getting tempted to cut it. I'm so close!"
We're thinking New York Fashion Week (which is coming up on Sept. 10) will be the perfect opportunity for Rihanna to debut her new short style. She's known for starting beauty trends, especially when it comes to hair. First, it was the asymmetrical bob back in the early 2000s. Then, everyone was taking Rihanna's image to the barber for the undercut look — including us!
When we asked where she gets inspiration for her beauty looks, she told us that she's always on the hunt for new ideas. "I find my inspiration anywhere. You can never limit yourself to any specific place," she said. "I go off the energy that I want, and find things that give me that. I never really plan my looks. I go spur of the moment how I feel."
You can guarantee her next hairstyle will be an impulsive choice. We think Rihanna would look fabulous in any of the popular trends we've been seeing. Rainbow hair, perhaps? She's already done gray, so we know she's daring enough to try it!
At the end of the day, Rihanna's main goal is to take care of her locks. "I always take care of my hair, that's why I switch my hair up so often," she said. "I don't like to leave my weave in for too long. I like to treat my hair and take care of it under there because one day I don't want to wear this." While we'll have to wait to see her new cut, one thing we can be sure of is that her weave is a passing phase.
Rihanna also let slip that a Fenty beauty line is in the works. "It's something that I've always wanted to do, but I've always had so much on my hands," she told Refinery29. "But, this time, I'm going to make sure it happens. I'm going to find some time between albums and fragrance to do that. I promise." A new haircut, a fragrance empire, and a new cosmetics business? Two words: boss b*tch!
