Vera Wang Totally Understands What Women Want For Date Night
For Vera Wang's Fall 2014 runway, the beauty look wasn't inspired by fairy tales or ballerinas; it was all about getting the look of the average woman. In fact, lead hairstylist Jimmy Paul didn't do anything to some of the models' hair except add a deep side part. However, he did add a spritz of Bumble and Bumble Prep ($21) to give flatter hair texture or a few braids to take the thickness out of curly hair.
The eye makeup was an illuminating shade of pink and silver from the Clé de Peau Eye Color Quad ($55) in Silver Eclipse. "You want romance, not too goth, too dead, too sallow," said makeup artist Lucia Pieroni. "The face is ethereal like dark angels." The light colors were meant to balance out all the dark grays in the collection. Jin Soon Choi actually pulled from the moody tones for the manicure in Mica ($18). She kept the nails short and shimmery for a more modern interpretation of the dark romance theme.
