4 Products I Swear By From Alpyn Beauty — All Found at Sephora
The closest I'd gotten to Jackson Hole, WY, was looking at friends' pictures on Instagram, but the natural skin-care line Alpyn Beauty changed all that. Born out of the Alpyn Beauty Bar apothecary (which opened in 2016 in Wyoming), this indie brand features sustainably sourced ingredients right from the mountain town. And when its products arrived at Sephora in February, it made it even easier to make a clean skin-care change and try these alpine botanicals for myself.
Letting Mother Nature's powerful plants work their magic, all of Alpyn Beauty's vegan, cruelty-free products feature a "PlantGenius" complex with wild arnica, wild chamomile, sage, calendula, and borage. The products are already very popular with other Sephora shoppers, but I've personally tried out each one, so it's not just other people who love them, it's yours truly, too.
Alpyn Beauty PlantGenius Creamy Bubbling Cleanser With Fruit Enzymes and AHAs
Alpyn Beauty PlantGenius Creamy Bubbling Cleanser With Fruit Enzymes and AHAs ($36) exfoliates dead skin cells and unclogs pores with papaya and pomegranate enzymes. While doing that work, AHAs and vitamin C brighten and help clear breakouts, and ceramides protect skin's moisture barrier.
My favorite thing about this gentle face wash is its consistency, which starts somewhere between a cream and a gel but is worked up into a lightly bubbling lather when water is added. My skin feels clean, not stripped, after I use it (but, admittedly, I don't wear heavy face makeup, and I take my waterproof mascara off separately). It's also earned an average 4.6-star rating from other Sephora shoppers with several praising its natural fruit smell.
Alpyn Beauty PlantGenius Line-Filling Eye Balm With Bakuchiol
As the name implies, the Alpyn Beauty PlantGenius Line-Filling Eye Balm With Bakuchiol ($62) is more balm-like than creamy. It's got vitamin C, licorice root, and bearberry leaf to brighten dark circles with depuffing caffeine and algae inside, too.
While I've not personally had a reaction to retinol, this top-rated eye treatment uses a natural wrinkle-fighting alternative — bakuchiol — which is praised for being gentler on the skin. It visibly plumps in fine lines, and I especially like how it cushions under concealer, too.
Alpyn Beauty PlantGenius Brightening Survival Serum
This top-rated Alpyn Beauty PlantGenius Brightening Survival Serum ($68) is a hardworking serum with brightening vitamin C, lactic acid, and other plant extracts to tackle dark spots and hyperpigmentation. It also uses azelaic and glycolic acids to gently exfoliate skin's texture so it feels softer afterward.
I personally like this serum's slight shimmer, which is great for subtle highlighting (even on top of makeup). But since it also smooths skin's surface, my favorite way to wear it is under makeup as a primer or alone for a dewy, bared-faced glow.
Alpyn Beauty PlantGenius Melt Moisturizer With Bakuchiol
The Alpyn Beauty PlantGenius Melt Moisturizer With Bakuchiol ($60) also features that natural line-fighting retinol alternative but adds in a bunch of hydrating ingredients including squalane, hyaluronic acid, and ceramides.
I like this cream's lightweight, whipped texture and that there's no greasy or heavy feeling afterward. It's a nice final step after applying the serum in the evening, and it seemingly melts into my skin. (Plus, there's an average 4.6-star rating from other shoppers, several raving about how soft their faces feel afterward, too.)
