How to Do Your Makeup Like an E-Girl, Courtesy of Doja Cat

We can always count on Doja Cat to pull off a bold beauty trend, and thankfully she just gave fans a quick master class on how to pull them off with her. In a new makeup tutorial for Vogue, the Hot Pink rapper briefly gives us a step-by-step look at her e-girl-inspired beauty routine. For those who don't know, an e-girl is a specific type of TikTok user that typically wears lots of pink makeup (like blush and eyeshadow) and "hearts under their eyes," according to an Urban Dictionary definition.

"I remember being on Pinterest — I didn't even know what e-girl was, I just saw these, like, Tumblr girls who looked super cute," Doja Cat says in the 15-minute video. "It looked like they were sick, but it was intentional. I could see they were wearing a lot of makeup, and I just fell in love with that."

The rapper starts the video off by giving us a quick look at her skincare routine, which includes products like Tatcha's The Deep Cleanse ($38), The Rice Polish: Classic enzyme powder ($65) to exfoliate the skin, and Skin Inc's Pure Revival Peel ($55). After rubbing on a few more oils and serums, she moves on to her makeup, applying her Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation ($35) and Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Concealer ($26) first, before following up with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder ($39). She then contours her face with a bit of bronzer before jumping in with a pink NARS blush that she applies to her cheekbones, eyelids, and nose area. "I love a blushy, red look," she says. "It just makes you look cold. Like you're freezing cold, and I don't know what's so sexy about being freezing cold, but I like to look like I'm freezing cold."
