Florence Pugh's Gravity-Defying Oscars Hairstyle Is a Lesson in Illusions

Florence Pugh's Oscars hairstyle deserves to be admired from every single angle. The "Dune: Part II" actor, who will present an award on stage during the show, arrived to Dolby Theatre with a one-of-a-kind updo that defied the laws of gravity. Celebrity hairstylist Peter Lux pulled her hair into a slicked-back ponytail and fashioned the ends into faux micro bangs, just like the ones she had at the the BAFTAs last month.

Half of Pugh's ponytail swooped across the top of her head and somehow remained in place without any visible pins, while the other half hung down the back with a delicate wave. Lux also added a thin black ribbon to match her Valentino Couture hot pants. As for the rest of her red carpet look, Pugh wore a voluminous beige dress, black platform pumps, and a dazzling Tiffany & Co. necklace. Makeup artist Alex Babsky used Valentino products to give her a subtle red smoky eye and rosy lips.

Pugh was just one of many stars who brought standout beauty looks to the Oscars. Ashley Graham paired her sultry black gown with an intricate braided updo, best supporting actress nominee Hong Chau rocked a double bun, and Danai Gurira turned heads with a striking, structural updo.
