Halsey Ditches Their Punk Bixie Cut For a Romantic Bouffant Hairstyle

Halsey made a compelling case for the Regency-era updo during a "birthday soirée" with friends. In throwback photos from their friends' birthday tea party, the singer wore an elegant hairstyle piled high with curls and adorned with pastel flowers. "month late posting this thir-tea first birthday soirée for @mariaamargarita and @___sadgrl cute !!!!!" they captioned photos of the celebration on Instagram on Aug. 21.

A major divergence from her bixie cut and micro bangs, Halsey's updo is a reminder that the artist is always willing to experiment with beauty. In this case, she fully embraced her inner 1800s aristocrat with a beautiful stack of black curls that swirled in every direction like tufts of grass surrounding her floral hair clips.

For their ensemble, Halsey opted for a ruffled gown with puff sleeves and lace detailing. Reminiscent of Taylor Swift's "Folklore" era, we could easily see the outfit working during a stroll through a meadow while "Mirrorball" plays on repeat. They completed the look with face-framing wisps that seemed to defy gravity as they smiled at the camera. Halsey paired the romantic hairdo with rosy cheeks, a pink lip, and a subtle, printed manicure.

Evoking "Alice in Wonderland" vibes, the party itself featured a floral-printed gazebo lined with tulle curtains for a romantic photo opp, strings of flowers wrapped around a swing set, and porcelain tea cups adorned with the word "sl*t." To drink, the partygoers enjoyed limoncello liqueur, which they paired with tea sandwiches and accoutrements from the charcuterie board. The linen tablecloth was also piled high with colorful macarons, pastries, a custom birthday cake, and other sweet treats in shades of pink.
