Why Do the Sanderson Sisters Eat Beauty Products in "Hocus Pocus 2"?

If you watched the "Hocus Pocus 2" trailer, you may have asked yourself why are the Sanderson sisters — Winifred (played by Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker), and Mary (Kathy Najimy) — shopping for beauty products in a Walgreens? The answer is quite simple: they're on a quest to look younger, of course.

For context, on Becca (Whitney Peak)'s 16th birthday, she and Izzy (Belissa Escobedo) decide to light the black flame candle (29 years after it was last ignited), summoning the Sanderson sisters back to Salem just in time for All Hallow's Eve. Naturally, they're back to seek revenge and eat some children while they're at it to restore their youthfulness, but Becca and Izzy craft a plan to trick the three witches, and that's where the drugstore beauty retailer comes in.

Given the witches's quest for children to eat so they can stay young forever, Izzy and Becca tell them about a magical place called Walgreens that's filled with potions that will make them look youthful. This leads the three wicked sisters to forage around the drugstore's aisles for something to eat — Mary lands on a sheet mask, while Wini digs into a jar of something, and Sarah spritzes an unknown spray into her mouth.

Watch the clip where the Sanderson sisters take on Walgreens at the 1:20 minute mark in the trailer ahead, and mark your calendars for Friday, Sept. 30 when "Hocus Pocus 2" becomes available for streaming on Disney+.
