Justine Marjan's crystal-embellished works have taken over the Instagram grids of celebrities, models, and influencers. For her third collection with the brand, however, she decided to add one accessory that skips the heavy sparkle: a two-piece patent leather scrunchie set.
When I first got my hands on the set, I immediately thought of the '90s version of the hair accessory. Then, I thought about how this duo wasn't that. With the scrunchies' patent leather surface, it felt more elevated, and something I'd wear to a business meeting, party, or date. I stretched the elastic as far as it could go to see if it could wrap around my thick, medium-coarse hair. I was surprised by how flexible the material was, because it did — without ever feeling too tight.
The set somehow transformed my third-day hair into the hairstyle below. What were two braids fresh from a sweaty workout turned into a look worthy of a magazine editorial shoot, curated Instagram grid, and now, a day at work.
