On the night of Wednesday, Aug. 26, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom shared the news that they'd welcomed their first daughter into the world. The announcement on UNICEF's Instagram page included a photo of the three of them holding hands and revealed the baby's name, Daisy Dove Bloom, which Perry called attention to with a single hand-painted daisy on her thumb.
You can't see the rest of Perry's manicure in the photo, so it's unclear if she had a flower on each nail or if the accent was only on her thumb, but the tiny detail made the photo that much more meaningful.
"We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter," Perry and Bloom's statement on UNICEF's page read. As goodwill ambassadors for UNICEF, the pair encouraged people to make a donation to the organization in Daisy's name to help other parents of newborns affected by COVID-19.
"In celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB's arrival. By supporting them, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child."
