The hack: Foundation contouring 101
The pro tip: While some choose to create facial definition with foundation, concealer, blush, and bronzer, makeup maven Gianpaolo Ceciliato proved you can do it all with just the former. "I always prefer to use two different foundations to contour because it blends better," he said. "If you use a bronzer or powder formula it tends to show or look too drastic. Blending a lighter and darker foundation looks more natural."
DIY it now: Ceciliato applied the lightest shade, Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation #5 ($64), under her eyes and on her forehead. A slightly darker variation in #5.5 was used on her hairline, jawline, and hallows of her cheek to make her facial structure stand out. He finished her by blending a bronzy hue, #11, on her cheekbones.
Bonus: Before you apply foundation, massage in a skin-firming face serum (Ceciliato used Armani Beauty Crema Nera Extrema, $410). It boosts circulation and builds luminosity.
