I've been hoarding makeup for at least 15 years, and there are some brands that I love just as much now as I did in middle school. Benefit Cosmetics is one of them. The company was founded in San Francisco in 1976, but the range really took off in 1990, when it debuted on Henri Bendel's makeup counters in New York. Since then, it's become available internationally and reached cult status.

Over the years, I've been sad to see some of my favorite Benefit products come and go. I hold on tightly to Miss Popularity, a tiny flacon of pearly white, supershimmery highlighter that is perfect for fair complexions. Though they are likely expired by now, I still have my bottle of Lightning, a glimmering body lotion, and Kitten sparkling powder puffs. But there are plenty of iconic items that remain in Benefit's lineup — and every beauty-lover should have them in her stash. Keep reading to discover each one!

Benefit Cosmetics Benetint Cheek and Lip Stain

Benefit Cosmetics Benetint Cheek and Lip Stain

This is the product that made Benefit famous! Originally sold as Rose Tint in the '70s, it became a popular purchase among exotic dancers, who used the formula to stain their nipples pink so they'd be visible from the audience. It works just as well on cheeks and lips and features a delicate rose scent.

Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Lengthening and Volumizing Mascara

Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Lengthening and Volumizing Mascara

This mascara has been a bestseller at Sephora since it launched in 2011 — and for good reason. The original carbon-black formula fattens, lengthens, and curls lashes with one stroke, while the tip of the molded brush helps you coat even the tiniest hairs. The innovative wand spurred many imitators, but none has knocked this product off its throne.

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer

This cult-favorite bronzer has been around for 15 years (I remember when it launched)! Instead of a standard compact, Benefit tucked this shimmer-free, true-brown pressed powder into kitschy, cardboard packaging. Even better, it includes a formidable brush instead of a flimsy one. The bristles are dense and perfectly shaped for contouring as well as dusting sun-kissed color onto your forehead, your cheekbones, and the bridge of your nose. In 2016, Benefit released a whole collection inspired by Hoola, including body bronzer and liquid formulas.

Benefit Cosmetics Dr. Feelgood

Benefit Cosmetics Dr. Feelgood

As a teen, I was befuddled by this tin every time I stepped into my local Sephora . . . but that didn't stop me from smoothing some of the product onto the back of my hand and reveling in its velvety texture. Now I know that it's a luxurious primer in solid form. Slick it onto your face before applying foundation to lock it in place, or dab some on top of your makeup to mattify a shiny T-zone — how you use it is up to you. Though many innovative primers have hit the market since Dr. Feelgood launched in 2004, this remains a tried-and-true favorite of amateurs and artists alike.

Benefit Cosmetics Watt's Up! Cream-to-Powder Highlighter

Benefit Cosmetics Watt's Up! Cream-to-Powder Highlighter

Celebrity makeup artists like Mario Dedivanovic (Kim Kardashian's beauty guru) and Beau Nelson (Nicole Richie's glam go-to) both love this product, and so do I. Its shimmery, champagne formula is pretty on a wide variety of skin tones and can be layered to create that "wet look" highlight that will pop in a selfie. Because it comes with a built-in sponge, you can ensure your application will never look streaky or unblended.

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Agent Zero Shine

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Agent Zero Shine

If you find your T-zone gets unsufferably greasy, give this a try. The portable, lightweight powder comes with a tiny brush so you can dust on the oil-controlling formula anywhere, even on the go. Fans of Agent Zero Shine say it makes their skin look filtered in real life — poreless, supersmooth, and matte.

Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Push-Up Liner

Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Push-Up Liner

The unique, flexible tip of this gel eyeliner pen allows you to apply the formula ultraclose to the lash line, while its shape makes it easy to craft a cat eye. Once you slick it on, it will last for 24 hours and through a swim, so it's a great product to pack for a beach vacation.

Benefit Cosmetics Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Sugarbomb

Benefit Cosmetics Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Sugarbomb

While you may have overlooked this understated gloss, it's worth a chance. The sheer brown-rose hue is infused with a pearly finish, so it makes lips look full and luscious while complementing a wide range of skin tones. You'll quickly become addicted to gliding on the sugary-scented formula.

Benefit Cosmetics High Brow

Benefit Cosmetics High Brow

This is one of the original products designed to give you brows on fleek. Draw a single stroke under each arch, blend lightly, then step away from the mirror. You'll see that your brows look lifted and defined while you appear more awake. We've also used it to cover stray hairs between threading appointments!

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel

One stroke of this teeny-tiny brush and you'll forget you ever had sparse arches. The bitty bristles allow you to carefully shape, fill, and define your brows with the tinted gel. Each tube is packed with ultrafine fibers that stick to skin and hair, creating the illusion of thick brows. It's also water-resistant, so a little rain won't betray your beauty secret.

Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste Brightening Concealer

Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste Brightening Concealer

This ultrathick, rich, and creamy concealer powerfully hides undereye circles with just a minute dab of product (easily extracted from the jar with the included spatula). Though the formula may look a bit pink in the jar, that's because it's acting as a color corrector too: pink counteracts the greenish-purple of those dark rings. After applying, you can either apply foundation on top or just go about your day! You'll look so bright-eyed and awake that you'll receive compliments.

Benefit Cosmetics Bathina Take a Picture . . . It Lasts Longer Silky Glimmering Body Balm

Nothing will make you feel more like a retro pinup queen than this glamorous product. Glide the subtly shimmery body balm over your legs, shoulders, and décolleté with the included puff once you towel off postshower. Not only will it infuse your skin with a light floral scent, but your skin will also look deliciously touchable and radiant. Bonus: the vintage-themed tin is a cute addition to any vanity and can be reused once you've scraped up every last speck of the balm.
