This Is Not a Drill: Benefit Cosmetics Is Launching a Major New Brow Collection

If you're more of a cream or gel person, Ka-BROW! ($24) was made for you. And if you're not sure, here's what you need to know: most cream or gel products are called pomades, and they have more of a concentrated color payoff when you apply them, which is great if you have a lot of sparse areas. But it can get a little scary if you apply too much, so always go with the "less is more" approach.

The cream formulation of the Ka-BROW! brow enhancer means it's perfect for drawing realistic hairs within the brow for a natural, not over-the-top brow look; it's ideal for creating those tiny strokes. Use it in conjuction with one of the brow pencils to create dimension or alone to fill in skimpy brows.

Ka-BROW! is small and comes with a built-in brush, so it's easy to travel with.

I love the Goof Proof Brow Pencil ($24); it's my favorite new product in the launch, simply because it's so easy to create great brows with it!

The Goof Proof Brow Pencil is double ended: one side is a twist-up pencil, the other side a spoolie. The tip isn't round; it looks like a triangle and a hexagon had a baby. I compare the design to a geometric teardrop shape. This enables you to create lines with different thicknesses, depending on where you need to fill in.

Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel ($24) is an award-winning product that makes brows voluminous by adding tiny fibers that emulate hairs. The new iteration is pretty much the same but now comes in three shades to include a "medium" option for those who need a middle ground between light and dark colors.

An old favorite (and one of the first eyebrow products I ever purchased), the Brow Zings Kit ($32) got a major makeover.

The product is still as fabulous as the original, which comes with a mini angled brush for precision, tweezers to shape your brows, plus the wax and powder for filling them in.

This kit now comes in six different shades: ranging from a light taupe for blond hair to a deep, cool brunette shade for black hair. The wax and powder combination helps it to last throughout the day. Numbers 1, 3 and 5 are warm shades; numbers 2, 4 and 6 are for cool tones.
One exciting aspect about this brow collection is that everything is numbered, so if you're a #2 in one of the brow pencils, you'll be a #2 in Brow Zings — which makes color matching a cinch.

3D BROWtones ($24) is a subtle, eyebrow-enhancing gel. It's basically a gel highlighter for your brows.

Check out the 3D BROWtones Unboxed. I'd suggest using the gel to either a) add dimension to darker brows, b) lighten them up, or c) enhance lighter brows by adding a wash of color.

If you're in need of something to help spruce up brows that might be losing their fullness — or you never had that in the first place — BROWVO! Conditioning Primer ($28) is supposed to help your brows "reappear." It contains keratin and soy proteins to help essentially grow the brow hair over time. I've only been using it for a week, so I haven't noticed a difference yet, but I can testify that this product does instantly make brows appear fuller just by applying it. It also works as a primer before applying other brow products, similar to how a lash primer builds up your lashes before applying mascara.

Want to keep unruly brows coiffed? Or need to adjust some hairs around to hide a bald spot? Ready, Set, Brow! Gel ($24) will do the trick. There is no tint to this gel, which is nice for those who don't need to enhance the color of the brows and just want to set them in place. It's perfect for that "feathered" look, too! The comb is flat, and while some brow gels end up removing your brow pencil or pomade when you apply it, this won't.

If you need brows that are so sharp, they'd cut glass (or break the internet), Precisely, My Brow Pencil ($24) is the option for you. The brow pencil is all about definition.

Like the Goof Proof Brow Pencil and Brow Zings, the Precisely, My Brow Pencil option comes in six shades.

High Brow and High Brow Glow ($22) are back! But their new formula is a bit creamier, so it glides under the arch nice and smooth.

During the month of May, Benefit Cosmetics is donating every dollar from brow waxing services at Macy's Benefit BrowBars, Belk Benefit BrowBars, and Benefit boutiques to one of four charities as part of the Bold Is Beautiful project. The initiative was conceived to help women "empower their big dreams and make bold moves." The charities include Girls Inc., Step Up Women's Network, Girl Develop It, and Dress For Success.
