Glowing Ciara Just Made a Casual Ponytail Look Absolutely Elegant

There are many details that made Ciara's sporty ponytail at the 2016 American Music Awards perfect. The center part, the long and wispy fringe, and the way it showed off her shiny, ombré hair definitely made us stop and stare.

The updo was created by celebrity hairstylist Cesar Ramirez. "I cut her fringe to really frame her face and give her a nice, sexy '70s-inspired bangs," he said in a press release.

To create what he described as a long, messy ponytail, he center-parted her hair and pulled it back to the center of her head using the GHD Paddle Brush.

"I then attached a Faux Cesar-Do Ponytail, which I custom colored to blend with her beautiful blond color," he said. "To hide and blend the faux ponytail, I incorporated the remainder of her hair into the ponytail, creating one big sexy, messy pony. For an incredibly shiny finish and to nix flyaways, I used the GHD Platinum Styler on the ponytail and on the fringe," he explained.

His final step was to mist the style with Mizani HRM Anti-Humidity Hairspray to set the look. (After all, it was raining in LA during the event!)

The expecting mother also had a gorgeous glow, so she did not need much makeup. A soft, smudgy charcoal eye, peach blush, and a neutral lip were the perfect accents for her features.
