I know that hating Valentine's Day is, like, very cool. I get it. I'm in on the joke, I promise. But I happen to love Valentine's Day!

My affinity for the manufactured holiday is entirely noncontingent on my relationship status at any given time. It's just that I am a fan of the color pink, candy, and any reason to get people little gifts (I also love receiving them — hint, hint, hint!).

Sometimes, knowing what to get the dude in your life can be tricky. Buying Christmas presents is hard enough, so how are you supposed to settle on something for a stupid, made-up holiday? You don't want it to be too serious, but you want it to be thoughtful, right?

In these instances, it's always best to just do what I do and get him a gift that makes it seem like you were thinking about him but is really just beneficial to you. Beauty products! Here are some of my favorite fun, cute, weird gifts to give that won't lead to wedding bells but are a surefire way to get you laid.

GlamGlow Sonic Blue GravityMud Firming Treatment

GlamGlow Sonic Blue GravityMud Firming Treatment

This is that peel-off chrome mask that you've seen all over Instagram. Unlike the rest of the beauty products on the 'gram that are clearly gimmicks, this bad girl brings it. The GravityMud Mask firms and tightens skin, and does so in just 20-30 minutes. I do it before I go out, and each time, my skin looks a bit more lifted and energized. Plus, the chrome mask is the perfect excuse for a selfie.

Dudes love video games, right? Of course. I never really understood why GlamGlow did a blue mask with Sonic on the box, but it seems like the perfect way to trick your boyfriend into taking better care of his skin. He'll want to use this. Whatever it takes, you know?

Beard Supply Starter Kit

Beard Supply Starter Kit

I feel like we're reaching the end of the era when every dude had a beard. However, if the dude in your life still has a beard, you'd be wise to encourage him to take care of it.

This Starter Kit has everything he needs to master the care of his beard, including beard soap, balm, and old-fashioned oil. (Note: the latter is a beard oil that actually smells like an old fashioned classic cocktail.) Some men like instructions and steps that make them feel like they know what they're doing and are in control. This is perfect for that.

Which brings me to my next genius point: kits! Sets are the way to go when buying gifts because they take all the guess work out for you and leave you with a perfect, fully thought-out gift to simply hand over. Also, you're not going to be running around trying to find an empty box to cram everything into and wrap. It's all done for you. I know that sounds menial, but I'm still scarred from Christmas.

Dollar Shave Club Travel Toiletry Bag

Dollar Shave Club Travel Toiletry Bag

Every person should have a good dop kit. It's an essential that no one ever thinks about until it's too late, and they're almost impossible to find when you're in a pinch. Save him the trouble and hook him up with a nice one.

The DSC Traveler is made from waxed canvas, so it's durable and easy to clean when he spills his aftershave in it. The top opens with double-zippered panel that features a holster for his razor, keeping it secure so he won't hurt his hand, or his ego, with it. The bag features a surprising amount of pockets to keep his stuff organized, because you know he's not going to.

Take a little bop around the Dollar Shave Club site and check it out. You can cop it in a set with a few of their other products that I love.

The Body Shop Maca Root Rescue Set

The Body Shop Maca Root Rescue Set

Dudes are always asking me about moisturizer, and even more, eye cream. This set hits him with two products to moisturize, refresh, and energize his skin as well as the sensitive eye area. The lightweight formula absorbs fast so it won't leave his skin tacky and it dries matte so he won't have to battle shine.

Tom Ford Oud Wood Shower Gel

Tom Ford Oud Wood Shower Gel

This is more of a gift for you than it is for him. No one wants to walk into their bathroom after their boyfriend takes a shower and step in a cloud of whatever body-spray-smelling three-in-one body wash/shampoo/conditioner he was using. Get him something nice that will make your bathroom — and, oh yeah, him — smell amazing.

Do I even need to talk about how good Tom Ford scents are? I don't, you're right. This scent just as good as all of his fragrances in the form of a shower gel, so he'll have fragrant skin to layer another cologne on top of.

Want know a secret? Men love the smell of wood. And I mean LOVE. The heavier the wood note in your fragrance, they crazier they get. As you can see, there is something in this shower gel for everyone.

L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

If you're thinking that this is the most rudimentary beauty product that I could include in a men's guide, you're right. But in the last month, both my boyfriend and my boss — two of the most important men in my life — have sung the praises of this L'Occitane hand cream to me. So I took it as a sign. And it really is that good. It's super rich and hydrating without being greasy or too heavily fragranced, and the tube is great because you can use it until the very last little bit of it is gone. Oh, and it's LOX-EE-TAN.

Boy Smells

Boy Smells

Never underestimate the necessity of a candle in a man's apartment. Let's just leave it at that.

Boy Smells is a brand that speaks for itself. The scents are more sophisticated than the ones that remind you of your grandma's bathroom or other "men's scents" that just smell like stale aftershave. Plus, they look pretty and clean, like a Byredo bottle or a Herbivore jar. Beauty products that double as home decor are very essential.

Drybar Whiskey Fix Styling Paste

Drybar Whiskey Fix Styling Paste

Drybar's new Whiskey Fix Styling Paste is another product that you can give to him, then steal from him. It adds texture and volume to long hair when applied at the root, and is the perfect styling product for flexible hold on short hair. Most dudes love whiskey, and if they don't, they love to pretend they do, so chances are he'll love this product on principle.

Hawthorne For Men

Hawthorne For Men

The past few years have brought us new innovations in buying fragrances online. Choosing a scent in a department store is hard enough, but a few brands have come up with ways to pair you with a scent remotely. Hawthorne For Men is one of the more recent companies to do so.

I was as skeptical as I was curious about this, but it had three master perfumers including Olivier Gillotin (Ralph Lauren Notorious, Dior Higher), Rodrigo Flores-Roux (Clinique Happy, Tom Ford), and Quentin Bisch (Missoni, Thierry Mugler Angel Muse) behind it, so I decided to test it. Plus, Flores-Roux created the first John Varvatos scent I ever fell madly in love with and still wear to this day! I had a good feeling I'd land on something that suited me.

Your guy simply has to answer a few questions (I love a survey) about his body chemistry, diet, preferences, and lifestyle. He is then paired with two scents — one for work and one for play. He'll know which is which, because they're called "Work" and "Play."

The scents I was paired with are interesting and exquisite, and when it comes to fragrances, I'm not easy to please.

Aviate Hats

Aviate Hats

I do not get why men wear hats. There are so many cute ways to style your hair! It's such a missed opportunity.

If he must, though, these Aviate hats are a great way for him to rep his home city. Each one sports an airport code from some of the busiest hubs in the country, so he can cop one from where he's from or the city he most likes to visit. And they're perfect for throwing on when he doesn't have time to shower before catching his red eye.

OK, so maybe I do get it.

Candy Hearts Underwear

Candy Hearts Underwear

I mean, come on! These are so cute.

I love Valentine's Day because of all the candy, and there is no candy I love more than conversation hearts. These are quite possibly the cutest pair of undies I have ever seen, and I know your boyfriend will agree. They're pink, covered in hearts, and perfect for Valentine's Day . . . all year round. I can't even look at them anymore, they're killing me.
