Iris Mittenaere of France served as the gold standard of what all bombshell waves should look like — big, soft, and bouncy — while accepting her crown at the Miss Universe pageant. As if we weren't already swooning, her flawless smoky eye and light pink cheek and lip combo sealed the deal.

First runner-up Raquel Pelissier of Haiti proved a low-key stunner with a casual yet classic side-parted low ponytail. She opted to secure the style by wrapping pieces of her own shiny strands around the updo's base. She dialed up the glam with big gold earrings and a rosy lip.

Andrea Bezdekova of the Czech Republic radiated in a bold red lip that matched her flower-adorned gown at the Miss Universe pageant. She kept her silky balayaged strands straight as to not take away from the rest of her look.

Monyque Brooks of the Cayman Islands took a more natural approach to the Miss Universe pageant with a textured (and slightly wavy) style that oozed confidence, topping off her bright look with a classic red lip.

Johanna Acs of Germany took her fairy-tale gown to the next level (or shall we say several levels?) with a giant topper in the shape of a castle at the preliminary costume competition. We couldn't see what her hair looked like underneath, but we give her major credit for mastering the balancing act.

Kiran Jassal of Malaysia proved a little teasing — at the top of the head, that is — can go a long way with polished half-up, half-down pompadour style at the preliminary competition. She completed her look with a sexy smoky eye and large teardrop earrings for added esteem.
