5 Fenty Beauty Highlighters I'll Proudly Slather on My Skin Every Damn Day

When I found out that Rihanna was releasing a makeup line, like most of you, I freaked the f*ck out. For starters, I'm a huge fan of her music. Secondly, I was so damn proud that a black woman had created products that represent the various, beautiful shades of brown skin. I'm also slightly biased because of my Caribbean heritage. So naturally, Rihanna is my Bajan sister in my head. But the bottom line is: I needed to get Fenty everything on my face ASAP.

Among the buzziest items from the collection are the highlighters — Trophy Wife being, arguably, the most popular one (so far). The highlighter has graced the cheekbones of influencers, bloggers, and even babies since its reveal. I've tried it out myself (you can see what it looks like here).

To call the powder "extra" is an understatement. It literally goes on like pure gold dust. But to be perfectly honest, Trophy Wife didn't scream "everyday highlighter" to me. Instead, it felt more like a collector's item that I can pull out for extraspecial occasions. But even though it wasn't my highlighter of choice, I was still able to find five illuminating products from the line that made my cheekbones pop and were suitable for everyday wear.

Ahead you can see what five different Fenty Beauty highlighters look like on my complexion, along with a review of each one. Trophy Wife may be the star of the show, but these are deserving of trophies, too.

Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Moscow Mule + Ginger Binge

Moscow mules are my happy hour drink of choice, but that isn't the only reason I love this Fenty Killawat duo. Both Ginger Binge and Moscow Mule have mauve undertones, which allow both colors to double as blush (and even eye shadow). Ginger Binge is more pink, and Moscow Mule boasts copper undertones like the classic moscow mule mug (I see whatcha did there, Ri). The colors are rich in pigment and provide a nice shimmer that isn't too glittery.

Here I mixed both Killawatt shades along my cheekbones. It gave my skin a glowing pink tint that wasn't too intense. If your complexion is slightly lighter than mine, I highly recommend using Ginger Binge as a blush, too, as it gives the apples of your cheeks a rosy flush.

Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Mean Money + Hustla Baby

Now onto Killawatt part deux featuring the colors Mean Money and Hustla Baby. Unlike the aforementioned highlighter, these two shades fall in the champagne color family, making them flattering for a variety of complexions. Mean Money has a slightly matte texture with a golden color payoff. Hustla Baby is on the shimmery side with potent yellow undertones.

Mean Money is perfect to use when you're opting for a subtle highlight. However, both colors are extremely wearable and make great eye shadow bases. Here I dusted Mean Money on my eyelids and mixed both pans on my cheekbones.

If you love a highlight with a peachy undertone, prepare to trip over Trippin'. The stick glides on a beautiful apricot hue with flecks of pink depending on where the sun hits. IMO this is one of the most universally flattering sticks of the bunch.

If a snickerdoodle cookie were a highlighter, it would be the Cinnamon Match Stix. This is one of my absolute favorites from the highlighter lineup. It has hints of rose gold and shimmery brown. It leaves behind a hue that literally sparkles like cinnamon sugar on skin. It's by far one of the most beautiful colors for medium-deep skin.

Among all the Match Stix I've tried thus far, Rum came closest to the color of my actual complexion. I wasn't mad at that, though. It's a true golden-brown shade (that looks identical to Caribbean rum).

Because Rum blended so well into my complexion, my skin still looked like mine, just a lot more luminous than usual. I blended some of the Match Stix onto my collarbone, which made the remnants of my Summer tan pop.
