Prepare Your Shopping Carts: 12 New Products We Spotted at NYFW

Roaming the aisles of Sephora is guaranteed to bring any makeup-lover manic levels of joy, so just imagine what it's like to paw through the bountiful sea of beauty backstage at New York Fashion Week. The classics are always there — Bioderma's pink-capped micellar water, Mario Badescu's rosewater spray, and BeautyBlender, to name a few — but there are also a handful of brand new, never-before-seen products that sometimes have months before they ever see retail shelf.

We're dishing on all the cool new goodies we found backstage, which include a shiny new mascara from NARS (it doesn't even have official packaging yet!), a playful palette from Maybelline, a K-beauty skincare must-have, and a super fun collaboration between Christian Siriano and E.L.F. Cosmetics.

Maybelline New York Scented Lemonade Craze Palette

Days before NYFW, Maybelline New York announced it was going to launch a scented Lemonade Craze Palette ($14), which key makeup artist, Thomas de Kluyver, used backstage at Jason Wu.

The palette is fresh, fun, and summery and totally brings back happy memories of those "scratch n sniff" stickers from way back in the day. It features a cheery, summer-appropriate assortment of colors, including Lemonade Craze, Strawberry Lemonade, Ice Pop, and Coral Punch. You can get your hands on it in July!

MAC Cosmetics Bling Thing in Time to Twerk

MAC Cosmetics Bling Thing in Time to Twerk

Gold was one of the hottest color trends for NYFW Fall/Winter 2018, and we're royally obsessed. At Tadashi Shoji, makeup artists buffed Bling Thing in Time to Twerk — a glittery golden liquid — into the eyelid with a 242S shader brush. They focused on the center of the lid and diffused it softly around the edges. There's quite a bit of time before it hits shelves — it launches in Winter 2018 — but it'll be worth the wait!

Pili Ani Skin Care

One of our favorite things to look out for backstage at NYFW is skincare products. Because even though makeup is super important (obvi), what you do to prepare skin for cosmetics is probably doubly important. At Tadashi Shoji, we spotted Philippines skincare brand Pili Ani, a natural skincare line that utilizes active ingredients from the east.

New York aesthetician Eileen Harcourt would apply the Intense Hydrating Facial Oil ($125) to each model's skin, let it set, then wipe it away with a cotton pad. Loads of excess sebum, dirt, and grime would come off in the process (so gross, but so satisfying). Then she'd apply a moisturizer and send them off to makeup. The brand just came to the USA a few months ago and has received quite a bit of buzz.

Artistry Hydra-V Sheer Weightless Foundation

Artistry Hydra-V Sheer Weightless Foundation

The Artistry Cosmetics crew was backstage at Pamella Roland creating flawless skin via its new Hydra-V Sheer Weightless Foundation. The product, which launches in May, is a unique formulation that incorporates pigments that are more translucent and smooth than what's traditionally found in foundation. This creates a light-diffusing, super dewy, ultra-sheer finish that's impossible to cake on. The brand's also about to launch a makeup sponge, which is pictured here.

Drybar was in full force creating vintage-meets-cosmo waves at Pamella Roland with its line of Southern Belle hair products. The collection includes a shampoo, conditioner, mousse, and the just-launched Volume Boosting Root Lifter ($26). It's a super-plumping foam that you apply straight to your roots for instant volume.

TRESemme Micro Mist Hair Spray

TRESemme Micro Mist Hair Spray

Where there was TREsemme backstage, there was the new Compressed Micro-Mist Extend Hairspray ($5). It launched just before fashion week and comes in four different hold levels, which you can use together or separately.

What sets it apart from other hairsprays is the micro-fine particles that don't just sit on top of your hair but penetrate to create a sturdy hold while keeping hair soft and never crunchy. Fun fact: the bottle is smaller than other TREsemme hairspray bottles but contains the same amount of actual product due to less gas and smaller particles.

NARS Climax Mascara

NARS Climax Mascara

The brand that brought you cult-favorite blush NARS Orgasm and some of the best lipsticks in the world is serving up something super exciting: a brand-new mascara. NARS Climax Mascara is so new that it doesn't even have official product packaging yet, but it was the go-to option for the brand's makeup artists backstage at NYFW.

Climax's brush is fatter and more contoured than the NARS Audacious Mascara ($26) — which is still great — allowing you to pick up more product for a dense, fattened lash line. It's set to launch Spring 2018.

Also coming soon from NARS is Orgasm Lip Balm, which joins the growing collection of Orgasm products inspired by the cult-favorite blush. It, too, has a sheer pinky-peach tone with a hint of gold shimmer and is a universally flattering shade. Like the mascara, it's so new that it doesn't have official packaging yet. It launches this Spring or Summer.
