"As Spring approaches (we're SO close to warm weather, damn it!), I'm ditching my heavy makeup for lighter formulas. That's why I'm capital-O obsessed with this grown-up take on lip gloss. The Kjaer Weis Lip Gloss in Affinity ($38, out March 6) is the perfect rosy pink that gives off that elusive 'my lips but better' look. The formula is so light and hydrating, it's sort of like a mini treatment for my poor pout, which has been coated in harsh matte shades all Winter. "This primer made me a believer in primers, mostly because I get really hyped about them initially, but then I stop using them. In this case, The Silk Canvas Protecting Primer by Tatcha ($52) is more of a step in my skincare routine than for my makeup application, which relieves any guilt I have about the price tag. That's not to say it doesn't help my makeup to look like it's applied on top of smooth, creamy, buttery skin.
This primer has silk extracts that are what blur pores, lines, and any type of dimple or hole in the skin. Inspired by geishas' skincare and makeup routines, it serves to enhance the skin with ingredients like green tea and algae but protects the skin like a barrier from your makeup, so that it decreases the chance of a breakout. Hence the name, this latest launch from the K-beauty darling brand is made with mud from an actual volcano. Those little clusters give my skin a much-needed deep clean while decimating oils I bring onto my face via my rampant penchant for greasy, late-night pizza. There are six other masks in this collection, and each one is meant to be used together, but I find that this option alone works really well on acne-prone skin that needs a little bit of refreshment." — AD

"I've gotten ample opportunity to play around with the upcoming Beauty by POPSUGAR line, and I'll admit it: I'm entirely obsessed, and it's not because I work here! Among my favorites are a lip balm that completely reminds me of the best Girl Scout Cookie flavor (Thin Mints, duh) and two eye shadow palettes filled with superbuildable shades. Not only had I just found my new nickname (I'm under five feet tall), but I'd also found my new favorite palette. "I used to think that primer was a boring — but necessary — product to apply before getting to the actual fun makeup. That was until I tried this Sisley Paris Instant Color-Correcting Primer in Just Rosy ($90). This luxurious but lightweight formula is perfect at warming and illuminating my pale skin. I apply it right before foundation, and not only does it seal my makeup on like nobody's business, but it also gives me a healthy glow. I have that natural, French girl 'flushed-from-within' look when I'm running on four hours of sleep, precoffee. That's not the easiest task for a product, but this one stands up. "The entire Jo Malone 'English Fields' collection has been sitting on my desk for weeks, and I can't stop smelling each and every one. However, when pressed for a favorite, I'd have to pick the Jo Malone London Oat and Cornflower Cologne ($70). The limited-edition scent is warm, sensual, and, at the same time, light and fresh. I can't help but smile each time I pick up the cute pale blue bottle from my desk." — SS

Anastasia, as we know, gives good brows. But the brand is now fully a key player in the color cosmetics space, too. People lose their minds over new palette launches from the brand, and while there have been some missteps in the past, I'm very happy with the Soft Glam ($42) palette. Sometimes I don't want to wear an intense smokey eye, and this palette delivers. Don't worry, there are plenty of shimmers and duo-chromes included, but the focus of this palette are mattes with a romantic shade range: lilac, gold, cinnamon; earthy shades, plus two shades of orange that play nicely with the other warmer tones.

"This Spring, I'm matching my nail polish to a taxi cab with this Chanel Le Vernis Nail Color in Giallo Napoli ($28). I love how the daffodil-yellow hue brightens up my often all-black clothing, and it's the longest-lasting polish I've ever used. Despite the fact that I attempt to murder my manicure every single day with my rampant biting habit (don't be like me, please), this stuff stays on." — AD

My new favorite is the Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Garden ($76), a superlight, flirty scent that smells like actual strawberries and cream. I dare you not to smile at just one whiff of the mandarin, magnolia, and coconut notes that linger on you all day without overwhelming anyone you come in contact with. When I first spritzed this on myself at work, I had a group of people stop and comment about how lovely I smelled. Making friends while channeling my inner sweet flower? I am all about that." — AD
