Lupita Nyong'o Basically Turned Herself Into an Oscar With Her Gold Beauty Look

Lupita Nyong'o has an Oscar (for 2014's 12 Years a Slave) and, now, she is an Oscar. That's because the Black Panther actress and children's book author just wore a gold-on-gold beauty look to this year's ceremony that resembles the gilded silhouette. And, predictably, Lupita looks perfect.

On the makeup side, I'm pretty sure Lupita's blinding gold highlighter can be viewed from the International Space Station — and I wouldn't want it any other way. She matched that glow with her shiny lip gloss, which has just the hint of bronze to pull the monochrome makeup look together. She contrasted it all with a turquoise eye shadow, which acted as a complimentary color to her honey-tinted makeup.

On to the pièce de résistance of Lupita's winning look — her hair! Lupita wore a strand of faux leaves through her natural strands. Vernon François created the look, which was inspired by traditional Rwandan Amasunzu hairstyles. When seen paired with her beaded Versace gown, the gold-on-gold look was truly hypnotizing.
