You can count on Pinterest to be on the pulse of what people are saving and sharing for inspiration. The platform has been the home (and subsequent graveyard) of beauty trends season after season, year after year. Remarkably, many beauty industry insiders say that Pinterest single-handedly changed the way they take hair photos.

Pinterest has the clout to back up beauty trends, and it's now sharing them with the world with the 2018 Global Beauty Report, which examines eight billion beauty ideas and 207 million beauty boards. So what trends are here for now? For starters, Korean beauty isn't going anywhere — in fact, it's up 36 percent on the platform.

Check out the 11 biggest beauty trends from around the world, and learn what popular looks and shades are gaining traction in your home country.

Curtain bangs — or "flequillo abierto" (open bangs) in Argentina — are easily the country's most-searched hairstyle. Think Alexa Chung effortlessness. They do want effort, though, when it comes to their nails — sculpted manicures are a huge hit, as is glitter makeup.

Australia: Marble Nails

Marble nails took over the US last year, but Australians are still keen on matching their manicures to their countertops — marble is the most-searched manicure of the year for Aussies. For hair, Australians are living in a rose-colored world, heavily pinning pink hair.

Mexico: Red Hair

Mexico: Red Hair

Mexico is seeing red: pins with red hair were up 222 percent. They aren't as picky with nail shades, however: nude, red, and white are the top three nail colors that people are searching for this year. Black and blue are both honorable mentions.

France: Braided Buns

France: Braided Buns

No surprise here: braids take the gold on Pinterest. Specifically, braided buns are huge in France (up 272 percent), along with messy buns. Braids of all kinds are the No. 1 searched hairstyle in the United States.
