When you want to know Sarah Hyland's every thought on The Bachelor contestants, award show parties, and face mask binges with boyfriend Wells Adams, you follow her on Instagram. If you want the dirt on precisely how she looks so damn good during every single second of it, you ask her makeup artist, Allan Avendaño.

The two have worked together for nine years — right around the time Modern Family first started — and they've been inseparable ever since. Within that time, like any good friendship, there have been countless selfies, heart-to-hearts, glam sessions, and yes . . . stolen makeup.

"Every lipstick I've ever used on her, she keeps — no matter what brand it is," Avendaño says with a laugh. "I give her a lot of makeup. The funny thing is that she'll show up and I'll be like, 'I'm so sorry, I don't have that color in my kit today.' And then I'll say to her, 'Wait, you have one, because I gave you three last time!' I went into her glam room and found out she's a straight-up makeup hoarder. It's mostly lipstick, because she doesn't wear foundation or anything like that, but if I were to go searching through her house, I guarantee you I'd find a bucket of lipsticks somewhere. I don't know if she'll kill me for saying that, but guess what, girl? It's true."

Ahead, he spills the products you'll find in her beauty stash — and exactly how she paid him back for all that lipstick.

"I got married last year in Palm Springs around the same time as her birthday and a few family conflicts came up, so she couldn't make it," Avendaño said. "Her hairstylist Ryan Richmond [right] was there with his family, and he kept disappearing. Then all of a sudden he walks out with a life-size photo of Sarah waving to the crowd. It was from the Emmys, when she wore a big, coral Christian Siriano ballgown. She painted it white because she said if she did come to the wedding, she would come in a big white wedding dress just to be funny. So technically, she was there — and we were taking photos with her all night."

"In the beginning of her career, she looked so young," he said. "She might have been playing a teenager on Modern Family, but really she was an adult, so she always wanted to look a little older. We would always do smoky eyes or a more glamorous, sophisticated look. Everyone was always comparing her to Mila Kunis, so that's what we were going for. Sometimes, we'd get so carried away — we'd be like, 'Let's do black shadow and really smoke it out!' As she's gotten older, we've switched from black to a soft brown or purple eyeliner. We stick to neutral tones these days for a more natural look."

"When it comes to drugstore products, I tend to be particular about what I'll use on her just because I want it to last all night," he said. "Her skin is amazing, so she doesn't need to do much, but I will apply the Differin Oil-Control Moisturizer ($10) as a base just to hold up the makeup. If you put makeup on dry skin, it'll start to look chalky."

"Honey, I've used every lipstick on her from L'Oréal, Neutrogena, Revlon . . ." he said. "We use a lot of the Revlon Kiss Lip Pumping Creme ($4). It's not a lipstick or gloss, it just gives this sheer color that's really nice."

"We're always getting in mascaras and trying new ones, but L'Oréal [Voluminous Mascara ($8)] has always been a holy grail — we've been using it for years."

"Sarah is such a good friend of mine and she melts my heart, so really I'll give her anything she wants," Avendaño said. "I always use the Cetaphil Wipes ($9); they are so gentle and take everything off in one swipe. I've given her a whole packs of those wipes."
