Today, Glossier rereleased its Generation G lipsticks ($18) — the sheer (but buildable) matte lip colors. The cult-favorite brand has chosen to keep its original six shades but is changing aspects of the lipsticks themselves, like their texture and casing. The reformulation came in response to customer feedback that the packaging was flawed and the lipsticks were drying, according to Vogue. So the brand amped up the bullet to have an ultracreamy ("moisturizing" is the word that our team has been throwing around) formula with a more sturdy, heavyweight casing. Below are swatches on three of our editors. The shades go in the following order (from elbow to wrist): Jam (blackberry), Like (cool, light pink), Leo (cool brown), Crush (raspberry pink), Zip (bright red), and Cake (peach).

"I thought the lipsticks were super moisturizing and easy to glide on. I have fair skin with neutral undertones and I like how you can build it up to an opaque demi-matte, or leave it sheer with just one swipe. My favorite shade is Zip because of how vibrant it is — bright pink shades add much-needed color to my face." — Charisandra Perez, assistant social and partnerships coordinator

"I have medium skin with red undertones, and I was pleasantly surprised at how buildable and opaque every shade was against it. Cake surprised me the most — I was confident that it would disappear into my lips, but it built into a beautiful peachy-nude. I've been wearing it for a few hours now, and the silky, balm-like formula does dry down and fade a tiny bit, but one clean swipe brings it back to full vibrancy." — Jesa Marie Calaor, assistant beauty editor

"The texture felt really light and moisturizing, and dried down to a comfortable demi-matte. My favorite is Leo. I have deep skin with neutral undertones and though it's not my idea of the perfect nude, it does fall within the nude range for me." — Mekishana Pierre, assistant entertainment editor
