2019 Saw Some Mind-Blowing Skincare Launches, but These Are Our Favorites

I wore the green face for 10 minutes and discovered that even washing it off left a minimal mess in my office restroom sink because it melts down quickly and slips down the drain. "Lord Jones helped me understand how deceitful the CBD industry can be. My biggest takeaway: brands are incorporating ingredients like hemp-seed and cannabis sativa seed oil to capitalize on the buzzy ingredient, but it should be known that both of those ingredients do not have the same properties CBD does. (Anything made from the seed of the cannabis plant won't, as CBD is made from the plant itself.) The brightening moisturizer has a cooling gel texture that slicks on to feel and look like a makeup primer before melting down and absorbing quickly into skin the way a serum would. Before bed for two weeks, I would apply two pea-sized amounts to my face and neck. I'm personally a huge fan of the potent exfoliating polish but love how I don't have to worry about leaving this to sit on the skin before rinsing. It's loaded with volcanic ash, which sops up oil and dislodges any gunk from pores. Sexy. For the Dove Milk Swirls Lavender & Honey Bath Bomb ($14 for 2), however, I will make an exception. Not only does it fizz up in satisfying suds that make my skin feel squeaky clean, but it's also loaded with heavy-hitting moisturizers that make it feel even better when you step out." — KC

"Testing out the Innisfree Nourishing Ampoule Toner With Ginger Honey ($22) as full of happy accidents: First, as I was taking the bottle out of its packaging, I accidentally flung it across the room. Thankfully, the resilient bottle looked completely unharmed when I went to go pick it up. Then, when I went to dispense a few drops of the toner onto my hand, I ended up pouring out way more than what I needed.

I began swiping the floral scented liquid onto my forehead and all the way down my neck and shoulders. I tapped it into my skin for faster absorption, and immediately felt it soften, smooth, and plump up with moisture. Even the upper part of my cheeks — where I have two dry patches that are healing from this winter's harsh cold weather — felt moisturized and calm." — JMC

They can call it whatever they want — I'll just call it my new glow go-to." — KC

"I'm on a less-is-more shtick, meaning I want brands to be more conscious of the products they're launching. Does it solve a problem? Is it innovative? The ladies of POPSUGAR Beauty can attest: we get so many products each month, it's impossible to get through and accurately test everything we're sent, especially when it comes to skin care. This is why I was psyched about Vintner's Daughter's latest launch, the Active Treatment Essence ($225). It's only the second launch from the brand, and after testing it over four weeks, I can say with confidence that it's worth the luxury price tag. If the Active Botanical Serum, an oil, wasn't your cup of tea, I think you'll fancy the essence for a few reasons. I feel like essences are universally great for any skin type, and I personally noticed better results from it. My esthetician even commented on how my pores are looking great since I started using this baby. "Glossier found a way to bottle up the dewy skin look you've been seeing on Instagram into one no-fuss product: Futuredew Oil-Serum Hybrid ($24). To test it, I dispensed one pump onto my fingers before applying it onto my slightly towel-dried face and neck. (This is brand founder Emily Weiss's preferred way to apply the stuff.) The peach-pink liquid has a thick consistency and a slight lavender scent. It quickly melted onto my skin, turning into a nonsticky, glossy liquid that quickly absorbed. "I've been extremely impressed with One Ocean Beauty. Created by beauty-industry veteran Marcella Cacci, she left her cushy job to create a brand that actually gives back; One Ocean was founded on the ideal that we should be taking care of our oceans. This is why a $250,000 donation to Oceana was baked into the operating expenses for the brand from the jump. As someone who gets many pitches about brands giving back, it's rare and impressive for a brand — especially a new one — to commit that type of a money upfront to a cause.

That said, I've also been impressed with the products, too. I think when you hit 30 you start becoming obsessed with skin care for other parts of your body, not just your face. You've spent years devoted to making your mug look amazing, but then you start to realize your body needs some TLC too. I'm now a person who regularly slathers on lotion morning and evening, and these days I'm using One Ocean Bioactive Body Sculpting Cream ($114) and Ultra Marine Cellulite Night Cream ($125). Pick your jaw off the floor — yes, these are beauty investments. And typically I'm very anti-anything being touted as a sculpting or cellulite cream, but the ingredients in these two products plus the way they make my skin feel make me feel confident in recommending them. They're both emollient but dry down beautifully and are made with ingredients from the ocean (without disturbing it). Of course, working out and eating healthy helps with these types of products, but the tone of my skin has improved in the weeks since I started using them.
