NYC's Top Tattoo Artist Reveals the Ink Everyone Has Been Getting in 2019

Bold, larger-than-life tattoos have always had a place for the David Beckhams, Justin Biebers, and Hells Angels members of the world, but the biggest trend in body art these last few years has been exponentially smaller and more delicate. Now, the artist that gave "tiny tattoos" its mass appeal notes that ink in 2019 bridged the gap between old and new, meeting somewhere in the middle of the size spectrum.

"Fine-line work has been popular for many years, and recently artists have become more willing to do it and move out of the comfort zone of large, pulled line work," said tattooist Keith "Bang Bang" McCurdy, who's worked with everyone from Rihanna to Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin. "As these tattoos become common, it will become more trendy to get larger, more intricate works. As tattoos become more acceptable, people will be less apprehensive to tattoo more of their body."
