While every member of the Fab Five (plus their new canine sidekick Bruley) is special, Jonathan Van Ness has a special place in beauty-lovers' hearts. The grooming expert helps many of Queer Eye's contestants undergo a makeover from the inside out. He preaches self-love through self-care and explains to many of the show's guests how taking a few minutes to take care of yourself isn't selfish, but part of nurturing and caring for your body.

He's spread a lot of great beauty tips and education throughout Queer Eye's three seasons (my boyfriend now knows that shampoos containing sulfates are a no-no), but this season he really let some good beauty secrets out. Ahead, check out the advice, products, and tips he offered in each episode so you can try them out yourself or just truly relive Van Ness's perfect personality. Yass, hunny!

The biggest transformation for Jody Castellucci was her hair. As Van Ness explained, going to the salon just three times a year for a color touch-up (and not using box dye yourself) can make a huge difference.

Van Ness reminds Joey Greene that showing up for himself sets a good example for his son. The hairstylist uses dry shampoo paste to absorb oil and dirt from Joey's hair while also styling it. Redken's Dry Shampoo Paste 05 ($20) gives the hair lift and texture while making it appear cleaner.

Deborah and Mary Jones are hardworking sisters running a barbecue business. "I just want to show them why it's important to slow down and nurture yourself," Van Ness explains as the duo get a massage during the episode. "And how much extra energy you have to give to other people when you take care of yourself a little bit."

During this episode, Van Ness takes them to a beauty salon to get haircuts, manicures, massages, and a full day of pampering. Mary also gets veneers, which give her the confidence to smile big.

Robert Hitchcock is a father of three and a nurse with marriage to his girlfriend, Jamie, fast approaching. Because of his poor self-esteem, Jamie nominated him to get the Fab Five treatment.

Van Ness shows Hitchcock how to style his mustache with wax and introduces him to a restorative sheet mask and eye gels, which the expert instructs to leave on for a few minutes to let the oils soak into the skin.

The grooming expert also shows Hitchcock how to create volume in his hair by propping it up with a duck bill clip. Another handy tool Van Ness introduces is oil blotting sheets, like the Boscia Clear Complexion Blotting Linens ($10).

Jess Gilbo came out of the closet as a teen, but faced homophobia and rejection from her family. Her best friend nominated her to help her feel cared for and loved by the people who support her.

With Van Ness's help, Gilbo embraces her natural hair. He cuts out the hair that had been relaxed and gives her a gorgeous short cut showing off her tight curly texture. "I really want her to see that you don't need to make the choice to subscribe to these false ideas of beauty," he explains on the episode.

Van Ness suggests that those with this curl pattern keep a wide-tooth comb in the shower to work your conditioner into your hair. Another tip? Use a curly lotion in your hair and use a Wet Brush ($12) to comb it through your strands.

Rob Elrod is the father of two young sons and became a widower two years ago. Since his wife's passing, he hasn't had time to grieve or take care of himself.

"I want to encourage Rob to quiet down and connect with himself through grooming so his internal strength can help him get through this in a peaceful and happy way," Van Ness explains in his episode. He gives Elrod Rudy's Pomade ($18-$22) to use on his sons and instructs him to lightly dampen his hair with his fingers and then apply a little bit of mousse and a light blow drying to keep his hair from falling in his face.

Thomas Diggs is about to have his 21st birthday when he meets the Fab Five. His older sister Krissy nominated him out of concern that her shy, video-game loving brother was missing out on some more social aspects of life.

In the episode, Jonathan shows Diggs how to use Clinique for Men moisturizer gel beneath his eyes and around his face by dotting it on with a finger and then rubbing it in to ensure it reaches every inch of his face. He also gives Diggs a lip mask like the Patchology FlashPatch Lip Gels ($15) to use before his party (just in case he smooches anyone). He also showed Diggs how to use a sponge to define his curls. He explains that when shopping for a hair sponge, you should make note that the smaller the holes, the smaller the curls.

Tony Blanco is about to become a new father and is admittedly not prepared for the due date (which is a week away from when he meets the Fab Five). He is a grade-A procrastinator whose house and routine are pretty messy, but he wants to be the best he can be for his pregnant girlfriend Bri, his upcoming baby, and his girlfriend's daughter Kairi.

Van Ness wants to help him prepare for the new family member by taking care of himself a few minutes each day. The beauty expert recommends a solution of apple cider vinegar and water in a spray bottle for Blanco to spritz his scalp with overnight to prevent dandruff. He also shows Blanco how to lightly hit his hair with a straightening iron to calm down his waves without eliminating them.

Another pro tip Van Ness wishes he could've shared with Tony is to shave in the same direction as your hair growth. Unfortunately, Tony did not give the Fab Five a heads up that he planned to shave his beard, but he looked fantastic anyway.
