German brand Zoeva just launched in the US with an array of silky-soft brushes, pigmented eye shadows, and creamy pencils that makeup-lovers will adore for its superb formulations.
Zoe Boikou started the company in 2008 when she noticed the lack of reasonably priced, high-quality makeup brushes on the market and decided to learn how to make them on her own, and sold her products on eBay. Boikou told Marie Claire Australia that in 2010, an Italian YouTube blogger discussed her brushes in a video, and soon orders came pouring in and she sold out her inventory.
Almost a decade later, Zoeva is known not only for its extensive brush line but also color cosmetics and its charitable efforts like DKMS LIFE (which aims to help cancer patients with self-esteem), and BFF: Frauen gegen Gewalt e.V., which incorporates more than 180 women's counseling centers and rape crisis centers.
