Jason Momoa started off September with a fresh haircut. On Sept. 5, the "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" star shared a video on Instagram of him ditching his signature shoulder-length hairstyle for a buzz cut. In the clip, he says he's "shaving off the hair" as he holds up his recently cut braids, and explains the reasoning behind the change. "Doing it for single-use plastics. I'm tired of these plastic bottles, we gotta stop. Plastic forks, all that sh*t. Sh*t goes into our land, goes into our ocean . . . The things in our ocean, it's just so sad. So, please, anything you can do to eliminate single-use plastics in your life."

Williams, who has never been one to shy away from a hair transformation, posted about her buzz cut with a caption that hinted at the easy maintenance that comes with the style. Her Instagram caption hilariously reads, "washing head w facewash> #3in1girlie," and honestly, that sounds like a major perk.

Saweetie revealed her blond buzz cut on Dec. 24, 2021, while on vacation. In an interview with Kevin Hart for the latest episode of his show "Hart to Heart," which aired on Peacock on Aug. 4, Saweetie shared the reason behind her big hair transformation.

"In quarantine, I had time to do a lot of like self-reflection. I learned how to meditate, and through meditation I've had access to my higher self. And that gave me a whole new experience," she said. "I read that hair holds a lot of energy, so it's essentially the metamorphosis of Saweetie and Diamonté — caterpillar into butterfly."

Baldwin recently posted her buzz-cut transformation on Instagram, something she felt was "long overdue." Alongside the announcement, it was also revealed that the model also dyed her hair platinum blond. With a caption that reads "don't tell me I won't do something because I will," Baldwin went further into detail about her decision on her Instagram Stories.

"Do things that scare you. Do things that other people say you'll never do," she wrote. "My hair was destroyed by years of bleach and modeling and bullsh*t since I was 17. It's long overdue for a restart/refresh. I've always wanted to do this but I was always scared. Now that I don't care what other people think, I feel more beautiful than ever."

Doja Cat recently shaved her head on Instagram Live, cutting her head into the buzzed hairstyle. "I feel like I was never supposed to have hair anyway," Doja Cat said on camera before also shaving her eyebrows. "I cannot tell you one time since the beginning of my life that I've ever been like, 'This is cool.'"

Prior to committing to the look, Doja Cat did a test run with the style with a two-toned pastel wig.

Ahead of her role in "Ahead So Long," Coel decided to shave her head because there wasn't a lot of representation in media of dark-skinned women with short hair being represented as a love interest. "When I was growing up I never saw no girls that looked like me doing romantic leads," the actress told BET. "I was pretty determined to do it. And I knew when I get this job and I'm gonna shave my head and I'm going to turn up with no hair and they're gonna have to make it work."

For her role in Hulu's "The Act", King shaved her head to play a presumed-terminally ill child. She loved it so much, she shaved it a full three times. The actress told Allure magazine that the cut didn't bother her. "I've never really had an attachment to my hair. I couldn't care less what happens to it," King says.

Model and sex-positive advocate Amber Rose has been wearing her hair in a short platinum buzz for years and the style has become a part of her signature look.

Kate Hudson also shaved her head for a film. She told Jimmy Kimmel in 2017 that she was worried about how her head would look. "Oh! What is the shape of my head going to look like?" she told Kimmel she'd thought to herself. "I really started to panic." Luckily, she pulled off the style flawlessly.

Halsey is fearless when it comes to experimenting with their look and has worn their hair in braids, multicolor hues, and close shaven. Naturally, the beautiful star looks great in all of them. In December 2019, she shared a photo of their short, natural curls, giving fans a look at the progress they'd made with growing out their hair, but several months later in October 2020, the singer revealed in a viral TikTok that they had shaved their head once again.

Stenberg starred in a movie called "Where Hands Touch" about a biracial child in Nazi Germany, and shaved her head for the role. She joked in a since-deleted Instagram post that the look made her feel aerodynamic.

In 2017, Stewart buzzed her hair for a role in the film "Underwater." Since then, she's experimented with keeping her look short, trying out different styles from pixies to lobs.

Natalie Portman famously shaved off her hair for a role in "V is For Vendetta" in 2005. She looked so good, the internet would surely break if she revisited the look in the future.
