As Summer draws to a close, we may be saying goodbye to our beloved Aperol Spritzes and floaty dresses, but there's one thing we'll welcome with open arms: an excuse to pick a new Fall fragrance. Of course, you don't have to change your signature scent to correspond with the season, but the cooler months certainly give you a nice excuse to do so.

There's something special about the transition from Summer to Winter, from the fiery colors of the leaves to the hint of chill in the air. And those same factors that have us breaking out warmer, cozier clothes and sipping on spicier pumpkin lattes and hot ciders also have us wanting to switch up our beauty routine. This time of year, many of us visit the salon to tweak our hair color to something warmer or darker, dig out all of our dark lipsticks in shades like burgundy, blackcherry, and claret, and try out manicures in deeper, moodier tones. And we can't think of a better way to celebrate the new season than topping it all off with a scent that's not too light and not to heavy to complement the transitional weather.

It's not a total farewell to our favorite light, citrus scents, though. Many of these picks strike a balance between fresh and complex, with citrus and white floral notes mingling with warm decadent ones like pomegranate, spicy pepper, and sandalwood. So if you're on the hunt to find a new fragrance to spritz all over your skin, cozy jumper, and even a touch in your Fall hair color, read on to see our editors' current favorites.

Bond No. 9 New Bond Street Eau de Parfum

Bond No. 9 New Bond Street Eau de Parfum

"I break out Bond No. 9 New Bond Street ($280) the minute the weather starts to cool — so around September — and continue to wear it all winter long. This scent is the perfume equivalent to being wrapped in a cashmere blanket and sipping hot cocoa (literally, as one of the notes is cacao). It's the coziest fragrance I've ever worn and it smells so delicious — thanks to coffee, chestnut, vanilla, and patchouli notes — that your mouth almost starts to water." — Sophia Panych, content director

Floral Street Iris Goddess Eau de Parfum

Floral Street Iris Goddess Eau de Parfum

"Floral Street Iris Goddess ($75) sure does make me feel like a goddess that's about to take on the Autumn season. It's not my typical scent, and that's exactly why I like it. It's powdery (that would be the iris), but with notes of red chili pepper and lemon zest, it still has the hint of Summer citrus that I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to yet." — Tori Crowther, assistant editor

Bulgari Omnia India Eau de Parfum

Bulgari Omnia India Eau de Parfum

"Bulgari uses an unusual mix of mandarin and saffron to bring a lightness to Bvlgari Omnia India's ($90) otherwise masculine scent." — Hayley Sharp, director of brand partnerships

Ellis Brooklyn Myth Eau de Parfum

Ellis Brooklyn Myth Eau de Parfum

"I consider Ellis Brooklyn Myth ($30) a "nude scent" because, to me, it evokes the smell of naked skin. It's creamy yet delicate (thanks to orchid and musk), floral yet clean (that would be the jasmine and pink lotus), and sexy in the most understated way. I spritz this fragrance all year long, but especially in the Autumn months, because while it still smells fresh, it does skew on the warmer side of the perfume spectrum." — SP

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Cologne

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Cologne

"When I think of Autumn, I think of rich, warm scent, which is why I love Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir ($95). The exotic pomegranate paired with lily, pink pepper, and patchouli make it the perfect transitional scent for the Autumn months." — Kiri Paul, sales planner

Min New York Stardust Eau Parfum

Min New York Stardust Eau Parfum

"Min New York Stardust ($240) is expensive — like really expensive. But if you want to give yourself a little mood boost before heading into the colder, darker evenings, this might do the trick. The heart notes of rose and orange flower combined with the base notes of musk and oak moss make it the perfect cozy perfume." — TC

Chanel Gabrielle Chanel Essence Eau de Parfum

Chanel Gabrielle Chanel Essence Eau de Parfum

"Chanel debuted its first Gabrielle Chanel fragrance in 2017 as an ode to its passionate, driven, and independent founder. Two years later, the brand has reinvented the scent with Chanel Gabrielle Chanel Essence Eau de Parfum ($135), a warmer, creamier version of the eau de parfum that features an opulent blend of four white flowers: tuberose, jasmine, ylang ylang, and orange blossom. A splash of citrus and berry notes at the top, as well as a smooth blend of sandalwood, musk, and vanilla, make this floral scent as sensual as it is sparkly." — SP
