Glossier Futuredew Oil-Serum Hybrid's Texture
I followed Weiss's directions to a T, dispensing one pump onto my fingers before applying it onto my slightly towel-dried face and neck. The peach-pink liquid has a thick consistency and a slight lavender scent. It quickly melted onto my skin, turning into a non-sticky, glossy liquid that quickly absorbed. The end result: high-shine, plump skin that looked more even in tone.
"It has squalane and a blend of oils for the longer-lasting [dewy and moisturizing] effect," cosmetic chemist Ginger King said. "It also uses sodium hyaluronate for immediate hydration, like many water-base serums."
King attributes its viscous texture to the long list of oils, which include jojoba, evening primrose, olive, and grapeseed. She also said that it is the jojoba oil, specifically, mixed with mica that makes skin look shinier for longer.

To finish off the look, I drew on my signature cateye and tapped small amounts of concealer beneath my eyes and around my nose to hide the bit of hyperpigmentation and redness not even this shine could distract from. The glossy effect was the most luminous in the first hour I had the serum on, but the slight shine left on my skin afterward lasted all day. I was impressed that one serum can give me the Instagram glow that I thought only existed with multiple layers of highlighter.
