I've long had a love-hate relationship with glitter. Sure, it is sparkly and can add the perfect finishing touch to a look, but it's also really bad for marine life. A lot of glitter products are made from microplastics, which, when they end up in the ocean, are eaten by birds, fish, and other animals. I'm pretty concerned about the environment as it is, so I was relieved to find an alternative to the plastic versions in the PYT Beauty Glam Glitter Gel ($18), made from natural mica.

The clean beauty brand created liquid shimmery gels that can be used on the eyes or face, housed in tubes with doe-foot applicators (like a lip gloss). The trio of colors all looked so sparkly, I couldn't resist immediately trying them out. I fell in love with the Gold, Pink, and Iridescent shades as soon as I swiped them on my arm, then again as I applied them to my eyelids. Each one is pigmented, is high shine, and can easily be layered for a multidimensional look.

Not to mention, the products are also cruelty-free, which means you'll never have to worry about animals being harmed by your makeup routine. Check out the glimmering hues ahead.
