While I haven't always been as much of a skincare fanatic as I am now, face masks have been an obsession of mine since middle school. They are simple and fun yet feel luxurious. They're also universal — I swear my fiancé enjoys masking more than I do. There's just something undeniably fancy about slathering creamy goop on your face, letting the ingredients do their thing, and reaping the benefits.

I make sure to mask at least twice a week, and there's usually a method to the formula I choose. Complexion feeling dull? I'll slap on a concoction with extra vitamin C. Pores looking large? I'll combat that with a mattifying clay mask. Despite my strategy, though, rarely do I see immediate, noticeable results as soon as I rinse. That's why I was so ecstatic when I tried Hear Me Raw's Detoxifier With Charcoal rub-off face mask.

Right off the bat, I was impressed with the packaging. Not only is it shelfie-approved with a frosted glass container and gold lettering, but it's sustainable, too — the mask comes with refillable pods you swap in and out of the jar.

The mask itself is super creamy and easy to apply. It goes on extremely smooth — like icing on a cake — and has this soft, glorious scent I couldn't get enough of. After applying, I let the mask sit for 15 minutes as its ingredients worked their magic. Consisting of clean, natural ingredients like protein-rich Irish moss, Chinese ginseng, and coconut water to simultaneously hydrate and tone, I had high hopes for what this baby would do to my uneven, acne-prone skin.

Once the mask is dry, rather than rinsing it off, you rub it off (which is actually pretty fun!). The package suggests using your fingertips to gently rub in circular motions to exfoliate as the product flakes off. I found the mask did in fact rub off quite easily without much residue, and whatever was left, I just washed off.

The best way to describe my skin after using this mask is "polished." The next best adjectives are "smooth" and "radiant." Something about all of the natural ingredients and exfoliating mode of removal made an immediate difference in my complexion. My skin also felt firmer, and my makeup laid flawlessly on top of it.

To put it simply, this product works. It's gentle yet effective, powerful yet calming, and I will never stop talking about how transformative my skin looks after each and every use.
