It bears repeating: shags are going to be extremely popular this summer, says Dueñas. "A shag is a great way to grow your hair out and look cool. Shags have a lot of short layers and still some length to them. They can look undone but still styled. This is perfect for people right now, because no one really wants to have to do their hair."

In the complete opposite direction is the pixie cut, which pros predict will also see a spike in popularity. "Post-quarantine, I see women doing something drastic that they haven't tried before but have always wanted to — taking a risk and letting themselves welcome new beginnings," said celebrity hairstylist and Unite hair ambassador Graham Nation. "The pixie cut is totally chic and no fuss when it comes to styling. While wet, apply [detangling spray] and rough dry into place. Once dry, add a small amount of [pomade] for a light hold that will last all day."

Just like other grown-out styles of yore, long bangs will also reign supreme this coming season. "Many people cut short bangs during this quarantine period, so their hair is going to be growing out and they will be able to do multitude of styles with them, but they will still be in a grow-out phase," said Dueñas. "Bangs can be very cool, because you are able to sweep them to the side, wear them as a veil slightly over your eyes, or push them apart to look like more layering on the sides of your face. You can also pull them back and hide them. They're easy to show off an easy to hide to create different looks each day."

Welcome back to the 1990s, where pros expect you'll see a resurgence of one-length haircuts. "This look was already starting to make a comeback but now they are in full swing," said Dueñas. "It is much easier to give yourself a one-length haircut than anything else. The style is enticing because it is easy maintenance with a lot of flexibility."

A perennial tried-and-true favorite, the long bob is the best of both worlds: short enough to pass as a frame your face, but long enough to throw up in a ponytail when it's hot. "With a little bit of length and light styling, you can give yourself a beautiful and effortless wave that is perfect for summer, a FaceTime chat, or a grocery store run," said Nation. "The cool and chic look is great for summer fashion and can easily be achieved with a blowout cream or texturizing spray."

According to Dueñas: "The easiest thing for people who have done a trim this time period was to cut some layers around their face to give themselves a sense of a different haircut," he said. "So we're going to see a lot of longer hair looks for those people who didn't give themselves a bob but haircut, and more layering around their face. This is enticing because you're able to give yourself the appearance of a shorter haircut. You can pull your hair back and have shorter layers around the face, which will make your hair seem shorter it makes it easier to do a faux bob as well as give yourself a shag look without cutting a shag."
