I Switched to a Completely Clean Skin-Care Routine For 2 Weeks, and It Worked Wonders

Over the past few months at home, I've been feeling inspired to clean up my skin-care routine once and for all. Many of the brands in my medicine cabinet had tons of mystery ingredients that I could barely pronounce, and I wanted to try to give my skin a break with safer products. Some of my favorite purchases have been recommended by aestheticians or makeup artists — there is a benefit to having your skin assessed and getting personalized advice on what to buy before diving into a new product — but with in-person facials not an option right now, I reached out to one of my favorite clean-beauty shops, Onda Beauty, for a virtual consult.

I was curious to see if a virtual appointment would be effective, but after a few minutes with my aesthetician Cara Peloso, I knew I was in good hands. We talked a bit about the issues I was having with my skin. I wanted to focus on brightness, hydration, minimizing breakouts, and sun protection. I also wanted everything to be multifunctional so I could create a quick and easy application process. Having an open dialog with a professional was so much better then reading a product review. Here are the highlights.
