By the time she was 20 years old, Barrymore had already appeared in over 25 TV shows or movies. But aside from amassing a resume that rivaled people three times her age, she was just a normal 20-something-year old and was exploring the vast world of beauty as such. When asked if she would give her old self any advice, she quickly declined. "I wouldn't have told myself anything," said Barrymore. "I was always into playing — putting eyeshadow to my temples." She prides herself on the fact that she always allowed herself to be expressive and go for it — in the beauty category and just life.
But then the idea of sunscreen hit her, as it does most of us who neglected to abide by the very basic beauty rule at a young age. "I never took sunscreen seriously and did not wear it at all — it always made me break out. So, I was like, do I want to have sun damage or zits all the time? And I picked the sun damage because I thought, I'm going to pay for that later," said Barrymore. "So yeah, [wear] sunscreen."
