Lizzo Says She's "Opening Everybody's Wine" With Her Met Gala Mani

The 2022 Met Gala theme is "Gilded Glamour," and Lizzo certainly came dressed for the occasion. The "About Damn Time" singer hit the red carpet in a black Thom Browne gown with black and gold embroidery. Her hair was styled in natural curls with laid edges in a finger-wave pattern. Her nails matched the detailing on her ensemble with a black base nail-polish color and extra-long, gold corkscrew-like extensions on each finger.

The inspiration for the nails? "Black royalty," the singer's nail artist, Eri Ishizu, tells POPSUGAR. "Her dress, makeup, hair, nails — we all collaborated for the same theme." Ishizu and Lizzo went through two nail-art iterations — the other one featured rings and piercings — before landing on the final look. "I surprised her with this set," Ishizu says. "And she was very happy." Ishizu used OPI nail polish and Tweezerman nail tools to create the manicure, which took five hours to complete from start to finish.
