From viral blow-dryer brushes to splurge-worthy do-it-all hair accessories, attachment-driven hair tools are great for consolidating your styling routine for speedy, salon-quality results at home. I turn to these tools when I am rushing to get ready and want to ensure frizz-free results. In fact, I strategically decide when to wash my hair according to when I actually have the time to properly blow-dry it, because that's the process that usually takes the longest for me. Luckily, in recent years, brands have come out with powerful hair dryers that cut down on drying time, but Shark went the extra mile with its newest launch: the SpeedStyle hair dryer ($260).

Shark's SpeedStyle hair dryer isn't just any old hair dryer; it has specific attachments that will deliver a salon-quality blowout and make it easier than ever to style your hair at home. The best part? The tool minimizes heat damage and is compatible with six attachments (some help tame curly hair, while other options are suitable for all hair types). Keep reading to learn more about the nifty hair tool.

What I Like About the Shark SpeedStyle Hair Dryer:

The Shark SpeedStyle is one of the most impressive hair dryers on the market. It delivers smooth, frizz-free results thanks to an ionizer that releases negative ions. As someone who often struggles with managing frizz and flyaways, I noticed an instant difference (and significantly less frizz) while using this hair tool compared to others. Its incredibly lightweight and sleek design makes it easy to hold and maneuver. Plus, it's powerful when it comes to its heat and airflow levels, which leads to quick and efficient drying times. The main feature of this hair dryer is the attachments, and to accommodate each one, the hair dryer has a built-in sensor that automatically adjusts the heat and airflow according to the attachment in use. But you can always customize it to your liking, too.

The attachments are the true star of this hair dryer, and the ones I gravitated toward the most were the QuickSmooth Brush attachment, the Express Touchup round brush, and the innovative RapidGloss Finisher. The QuickSmooth Brush delivers smooth yet voluminous blowout results. I rely on the Express Touchup round brush for my bangs and face-framing pieces; it creates that soft bend and perfect fall, and delivers the right amount of volume to complement my facial structure. In fact, I turn to this nearly every day to touch up my bangs. The attachment that impressed me the most is the RapidGloss Finisher. As someone with stubborn flyways, this has been a game changer. It delivers that glossy, sleek look; it's the secret weapon that makes your hair look like it's been professionally styled.

How to Use the Shark SpeedStyle Hair Dryer:

At first, using the Shark SpeedStyle and its attachments might seem complicated, but it's actually pretty efficient and easy to pick up once you learn how to best use each accessory. For starters, I like to rough-dry my hair about 80 to 90 percent with the Turbo Concentrator before I go in with the other attachments.

I prefer to have a sleek, voluminous blowout with a slight bend or flip at the ends, and to achieve that, I use the QuickSmooth Brush attachment. I have thicker hair, so I like to separate my hair into layers and work in sections. Just like I would with a blow-dryer brush, I run each section of my hair through the bristles and add a bit of tension for a smooth result. This is great for achieving a straighter hairstyle that still has volume.

Then, I use the Express Touchup brush to style my face-framing pieces and curtain bangs. You can style each side separately and let the attachment manually turn for a natural, seamless flip, or you can do what I did and bring both sides together in the middle for a more voluminous look. You can also use this attachment to add flips and volume to the ends of your layers and hair for a more bombshell-esque hot-roller look.

For the finishing touch, I use the RapidGloss Finisher, starting from the top of my head and gliding the attachment to the end. It helps tame the remaining flyaways and frizz for a truly sleek and salon-quality look. The best way to use the RapidGloss Finisher is on completely dry hair at the end of your styling routine. This attachment also adds shine back into my hair, but it can flatten your hair if you overdo it. In fact, I strategically use this on days when I'm sporting a slicked-back ponytail or bun for that sleek and sophisticated look.

The whole process, from soaking wet to completely dry and styled, takes around 15 minutes.

What to Consider Before Trying the Shark SpeedStyle Hair Dryer:

Shark's SpeedStyle hair dryer has a wide range of attachments that can enhance your blowout and overall hair-dryer experience. However, it is quite similar to the brand's FlexStyle hair tool. If you already have the FlexStyle hair tool, the SpeedStyle may be a redundant purchase for your routine. The SpeedStyle is best for those who primarily use a hair dryer for their styling needs and do not need the wrap curlers that the FlexStyle provides. The SpeedStyle also has more brush-based attachments that are great for getting the salon-blowout look at home. For those who already have the FlexStyle hair tool, you can get the compatible RapidGloss Finisher attachment ($29) separately.

Is the Shark SpeedStyle Hair Dryer Worth the Splurge?

If you're in the market for a high-quality hair dryer that's versatile, multifunctional, and efficient, this is worth every penny. I highly recommend this to anyone who truly depends on a hair dryer for all their styling needs, especially if a blowout is your go-to hairstyle. This tool and its attachments can do so much, including replacing a flat iron, hot rollers, and a hair-dryer brush.

Where Is the Shark SpeedStyle Hair Dryer Available?

The Shark SpeedStyle hair dryer is available at the brand's site, Sephora, and Ulta.

You can build your own set ($150, originally $180) with attachments you'll use the most; get the set made for straight and wavy hair ($179, originally $199), which comes with a concentrator, the RapidGloss Finisher, and the QuickSmooth Brush; or get the one made for curly and coily hair ($179, originally $199), which comes with a diffuser instead of a concentrator.
