Shawn Mendes Wore an Unexpected Nail Polish Color to the Beach, and We Want to Copy It

Canadian heartthrob Shawn Mendes chose a surprisingly dark nail polish color for a recent trip to the beach, and we can't wait to copy it ourselves. Mendes was spotted without his shirt in Australia, and while everyone else was checking out his abs, us beauty-lovers were focused on a small detail: his black nail polish. While many people lean toward brighter hues for warm-weather vacations, we're totally into Mendes's moody on-trend look.

Brand owner and manicurist Jin Soon Choi previously told POPSUGAR that black nail polish would be one of Fall's biggest trends. "[It's] the ultimate gender-free nail polish shade," she said. "It's very hip and high fashion, so it works in any context in which you feel bold, confident, and in control."
