Country Star Aaron Lewis Screws Up the National Anthem at the World Series

Country singer Aaron Lewis has issued an apology to his fans after he fumbled with the lyrics to the National Anthem during Game Five of the World Series. Aaron was on hand in San Francisco on Sunday night to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" but mixed up the lyrics, singing, "O say can you see by the dawn's early light, what so proudly we hailed, were so gallantly streaming" instead of "O say can you see by the dawn's early light, what so proudly we hailed, at the twilight's last gleaming." (Watch the performance above.) Aaron reached out to his fans on Facebook later that night, writing that his "nerves got the best" of him and that the "intensity of the situation" made him stumble over the lyrics.

To be fair, Aaron is hardly the first star to mess up the lyrics to the National Anthem. In 2011, Christina Aguilera also accidentally switched lyrics while singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl. Front Page
