Beyoncé and Tina Turner made Grammys history in 2008 with a duet performance of "Proud Mary." Beyoncé referred to the icon as "The Queen." Aretha Franklin, aka "The Queen of Soul," said that she "dismissed it as a cheap shot for controversy." Interestingly enough, Beyoncé fans nicknamed her Queen Bey just a few years later.
