Chelsea Handler's Dog Chunk Dies

Chelsea Handler's Beloved Dog, Chunk, Has Died

This guy passed away today. Thank you to everyone who has sent so many goodies, doggy treats, toys, clothes, paintings, stuffed animals, and everything else over the years. He loved being famous and getting recognized, especially without me. So many people loved him, and i really appreciate that and so did he. My favorite memory of Chunk is when I was paddle boarding on the Hudson River in upstate NY and he was following me on the shoreline by the trees, and finally jumped in and swam a quarter of a mile to get on my paddle board with me. I cried that day at how much he loved me. And, today I'm crying because of how much I loved him. My chunky monkey. I love you, baby. Softest doggy in the world. 💛❤️💛a true gentleman.

Chelsea Handler is mourning the death of her beloved dog, Chunk. On Thursday, the activist and former Chelsea Lately host shared the sad news on Instagram with a photo of Chunk, writing, "This guy passed away today. Thank you to everyone who has sent so many goodies, doggy treats, toys, clothes, paintings, stuffed animals, and everything else over the years." She also shared an adorable story: "My favorite memory of Chunk is when I was paddle boarding on the Hudson River in upstate NY and he was following me on the shoreline by the trees, and finally jumped in and swam a quarter of a mile to get on my paddle board with me. I cried that day at how much he loved me. And, today I'm crying because of how much I loved him."

Fans of Chelsea's might remember that she rescued her Chow mix — who often wore a red bandana — back in 2011, right before he was about to be put down at an LA shelter. Chunk made loads of appearances on Chelsea Lately, was her "cohost" on the Netflix series Chelsea, and even has his own IMDb page. It's been a sad few months for the comedian, who lost her other rescue pup, Tammy, back in August.
