Did Cressida Bonas Follow Kate Middleton's Plan to Win Back Her Prince?

After her split from Will, Kate started to step out for more social events, like this book launch she attended with her sister, Pippa Middleton, in May 2007. Her frequent appearances proved that she was not content with sitting at home moping about her split. However, despite Kate's sudden openness with being photographed, she made a point to shy away from the press and didn't give out any details about the couple's breakup. Even if Kate was hurt about being dumped (which she has admitted she was), she was still going to remain a good ally to William and protect what they once had. Her discretion probably proved to the prince that she was a woman he needed to work hard to keep.

As with Kate, Cressida didn't stay at home moping about her split from Harry. Instead, she popped up at more events, including a swanky party with her friend (and Harry's cousin) Princess Beatrice. She also followed Kate's lead in not speaking with the press about Harry, a fact that probably won her more brownie points with the royal family.

Kate — who was no stranger to London's club scene when she was dating William — didn't let her split from the prince keep her from going out late at night. In fact, in May 2007, she and her girlfriends popped up at more and more clubs, and she looked as if splitting with the world's most eligible bachelor was the furthest thing from her mind.

Being a big lover of indie music, Cressida was already a frequent festivalgoer by the time she and Harry got serious. She didn't let their split keep her from popping up at Glastonbury in June, where she was photographed laughing and chatting with actor Will Poulter while wearing tiny denim shorts. Who needs a prince when you can flirt with a cute star?

After splitting with Will, avid athlete Kate found solace by channeling her energy into training for the Sisterhood Cross-Channel Challenge in rowing. Again, the theme was clear: Kate wasn't interested in playing the sad, scorned woman and was instead focused on her own happiness.

As an aspiring actress, Cressida reportedly felt that her relationship with Harry held her back from taking jobs because she didn't want to appear to be capitalizing on their romance. However, once they were broken up, she was free to take on more roles, including a part in There's a Monster in the Lake, a play at Rosemary Branch Theatre in London. Cressida was seen leaving a performance in July.

Rumors of a reconciliation between Cressida and Harry first popped up when she was spotted attending the closing ceremony concert for his Invictus Games in September. Her appearance was all the more surprising because she reportedly had rushed back to make the concert after attending a family member's wedding in Italy. As with Kate and Will's concert appearance, Cressida and Harry weren't seen interacting, but her presence was enough to raise questions about their split. Shortly afterward, the pair was spotted going on a date together.
