So, Demi Lovato and Nicki Minaj May Still Be Feuding After the 2016 Met Gala

There's something weird going on between Demi Lovato and Nicki Minaj, and it all started at the 2016 Met Gala in NYC. Demi arrived to the event in a head-turning, custom Moschino gown designed by Jeremy Scott, but she wasn't the only one. Jeremy also outfitted Nicki, which resulted in the trio bumping into each other on the red carpet and posing for a few photos. The rapper then posted a now-deleted picture of her, Jeremy, and Demi on Instagram but only tagged Jeremy. No big deal, right? WRONG.

Demi's eagle-eyed fans saw the singer's comment on Nicki's photograph with a laughing emoji, a peace sign, and a thumbs up, before posting a now-deleted photo of her own that showed Nicki serving some serious side-eye in Demi's direction with the caption, "This picture pretty much summed up my first and probably last met πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ #cool #sof*ckingawkward #notforme #sweatpants #forensicfiles #whatsgood p.s. some of y'all need to learn how to take a joke.. I'm obviously laughing at the fact that 1. I look incredibly awkward and 2. That the shade being thrown in this picture actually gives me life πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ˜‚."

Although Demi seemed to be taking it all in stride, she then posted a selfie to her Snapchat story with a confused expression, writing, "When you aren't mentioned in a post but didn't do sh*t to the other person..."

Now, nearly two years later, it seems like Demi is opening up old wounds. In a recent interview with Billboard, Demi β€” who's been sober for almost six years β€” recalled her "terrible experience" at the Met Gala that year and opened up about a "complete b*tch" who almost caused her to fall off the wagon. "This one celebrity was a complete b*tch and was miserable to be around," Demi said. "It was very cliquey. I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted to drink."

Instead of hitting the bar, Demi went straight to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at 10 p.m. "I changed my clothes, but I still had my diamonds on β€” millions of dollars of diamonds on in an AA meeting," Demi said. "And I related more to the homeless people in that meeting who struggled with the same struggles that I deal with than the people at the Met Gala."

While Demi didn't name anyone directly, we can't help but wonder if she's talking about Nicki. Was Demi really hurt by Nicki not tagging her? Do Nicki and Demi have some secret, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift-level feud going on? Is this all just one, big social media misunderstanding? Only time will tell.
