Sometimes, all it takes is the right friend! That's a relationship lesson we all can learn from Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who were connected by a mutual pal. The 25-year-old singer stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Sept. 7 and revealed exactly how they met, and how their friendship turned romantic just a few months ago.
"We met through a friend," Nick explained. "We got connected first over text and we started talking for a while and it was about six months before we met up in person. Then we actually attended the Met Gala a few years ago together . . . but our lives were kind of taking us different places."
Interviewers and people in their private circle would ask if they were seeing each other, and the now-couple would dispel those rumors. "People thought we were being coy, and so did we, until we cut to now we're engaged, so the story sort of wrote itself," he said.
However, once they met up about five months ago, Priyanka and Nick couldn't deny the chemistry between them, and the rest is history.
"It was kind of immediate," Nick revealed. "I think we just knew it was right and jumped right in, and we're very happy." Aw! While he seems over the moon about their upcoming marriage, there is one thing Nick seems less than fond of: their couple name.
