Lauren Conrad Says Women Don't Need to Be Overly Assertive to Be Heard

Lauren Conrad graces the cover of Redbook's April issue, and in the interview, she opens up about everything from her marriage to her get-ahead philosophy. The former reality TV star gushed about her husband, William Tell, saying, "I was never a person who was obsessed with the idea of marriage. I mean, I love weddings. But he's the first person I ever thought I could marry." She also touched on whether women need be assertive to be heard, explaining that she's worked with several women she respected because they "didn't take on that role of being a b*tch." She said, "A lot of women feel like they need to be tough in order to be taken seriously. We have this idea that kindness is weakness, which I don't think is true."
