Hear the Sweet Song Macklemore Wrote For His Baby Girl

Macklemore and his partner, Tricia Davis, are parents! The couple welcomed their baby girl, Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty, at the end of May, and the rapper — whose real name is Ben Haggerty — took to his website to share the news on Wednesday. "There is nothing like the joy and happiness that comes from bringing a baby into this universe," he wrote, adding, "She has filled my heart in ways that I never knew were possible. She is the love of my life."

Along with the sweet birth announcement, Macklemore also debuted a new song in honor of his newborn daughter titled "Growing Up." It's the first new music from him and DJ Ryan Lewis since their Grammy-winning album The Heist and features vocals by Ed Sheeran; the song's lyrics detail Macklemore's dreams for his baby girl, including, "They say girls shouldn't be tough and moms should raise their kids at home / But baby I know that that isn't true, cause your mama's the toughest person I know." Listen to the song below now — congrats to Macklemore and Tricia!
