Matthew McConaughey Drives Students Around the University of Texas Because He's Just That Great

Matthew McConaughey may be an Oscar-winning actor, but he's still just a Southern guy at heart. The Sing star went back to his alma mater, the University of Texas, this week to casually hang with students and give them safe rides home. The university's official student government Facebook page shared a photo of Matthew, who was sporting its signature orange color, driving a golf cart with four student passengers on Tuesday. "Longhorns take care of each other, and it's 'safe' to say Matthew McConaughey agrees," they captioned the fun snap. "Don't forget to use SURE Walk when traveling home late at night; you never know who might pick you up! #BeSafe#SafeChats." Matthew graduated from the university in 1993 and frequently returns to his home state, even giving a moving commencement speech at the University of Houston in 2015.
